The Borden Murders "Lizzie Borden and the trial of the century"

By: Sara Miller

" Lizzie Borden took an axe, gave her mother forty whacks. When she saw what she had done, she gave her father fourth one." One of the most notorious cases in American history, The Borden Murders By: Sarah Miller is a book depicting what happened the day Andrew Borden and Abby Borden where found brutally murdered. The date was August 4th, 1892 when everyone heard a frantic Lizzie Borden who stumbled upon a murdered mother and father. once the police showed up they started investigating immediately. They saw that Andrew and Abby were struck in the head with an object multiple times. Then they saw Andrews axe was missing in the shed, that when questions started flowing. Andrew and Abby were liked people around the community so there was no motive for someone to randomly attack them. So heads turned to inside the house, who would do this? who has a strong enough motive to do such a thing. If you read Sarah millers book your mind will be twisted to weather you believe Lizzie did it or not. The evidence tells nothing that proves Lizzie did it yet her actions and attitude make the police suspect somethings up "Her actions were not lady like" the police said. She was relatively calm and too blank to go unnoticed by the police, especially after both her parents were brutally murdered. Even though I have not read past her testimony to know if she is found guilty or not. What i do know is that its a very graphic book that doesn't hold back the details found on that shocking day. Its not for the weak stomached audience. Its for the suspense seeking audience that want to solve mysteries themselves and like to finish a book with there own opinion to who did the crime. I highly recommend this book and suggest it even more in the month of October.
